Not every situation calls for a firearm—but you should still have options. This 4-hour interactive training course is designed for Michigan residents who want to learn practical alternatives for personal protection. Students will explore pepper spray and TASER devices while learning when, why, and how these tools may be used responsibly and legally. The course combines classroom instruction with hands-on training, giving you the opportunity to learn about and practice with these defensive tools before deciding which option may be right for you. Topics Include: - Michigan laws regarding pepper spray, TASERs, and civilian use of force - Understanding reasonable and appropriate use of force - Pepper spray vs. pepper gel - TASER operation, safety, deployment, and limitations - Carrying and accessing your non-lethal defensive tools - De-escalation, situational awareness, and decision-making - What to do before, during, and after a defensive encounter - Hands-on practice with inert pepper spray - Hands-on TASER training and deployment Students will have the opportunity to handle and experience these devices in a controlled training environment—because the first time you learn how your defensive tool works should never be during an emergency. 🎯 SPECIAL CLASS SAVINGS Every student who attends will receive 20% OFF eligible products demonstrated during class! This gives you the opportunity to learn about the different options, try them during training, ask questions, and then decide which personal-protection tool best fits your needs. ⚠️ IMPORTANT TASER PURCHASE REQUIREMENT You must possess a valid Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL) to purchase a TASER device in Michigan. A CPL is not required simply to attend the course. Whether you carry a firearm, aren't comfortable carrying one, or simply want another layer in your personal protection plan, this course will help you become more informed, prepared, and confident in the options available to you. No prior experience is necessary.
